Bye bye illness

I don't know about your family, but recently, we've logged record trips to the pharmacy to pick up baby nose saline, Nyquil, and Gatorade. It seemed like for the past month or so, one of us was always sick. Nate battled a three-day bout with the flu, Luke spent many days with a runny nose, Amanda stayed in bed for an entire weekend with headaches and joint pain, and poor William, he had a span of about 6 weeks where he just kept getting more and more stuffy. For a while, we thought he might have developed an allergy to Otis! The extra phlegm in his nose and throat was causing him some serious swallowing issues, so we spent a couple of days just trying to get him to eat. He had been doing so well with the Pediasure prior to getting sick! He also wasn't sleeping more than about two hours at a time, even after we sucked out his nose and *finally* put our college textbooks to good use by using them to raise up the end of Will's crib!

Well now he's on his 4th day of amoxicillin, and his nasal and throat trouble is gone! Thank goodness! He's sleeping well and eating even better. We can't wait to go to the pediatrician in December to see how much weight he's put on since we've started this new eating program. I call the photo "sweet relief."
